70-foot Traditional Narrowboat - Andante
Andante, a lovely 70-foot traditional narrowboat home, is available to hire out from ‘Floating Cottages’ at Hill Farm Marina.

Recently redecorated throughout, Adante combines new with traditional features of narrowboats for a unique experience onboard. Andante is ideal for those experienced in handling large narrowboats, the perfect narrowboat holiday for families of 4, small groups of up to 6 people, or two couples that want a unique experience onboard.

As a self-sufficient boat, Andante has everything on board, all the things that you’d find in a regular home, just to make sure our guests have the perfect holiday.

In the kitchen, there is a full-size fridge freezer, a 2-burner hob, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, toaster, non-stick cookware with lids, kitchen utensils and crockery.

In the bathroom, our guests can enjoy a full-size shower, a washbasin and a cassette toilet.

Our guests will simply love the boat and the amazing views of the Hill Farm Marina where the boat is situated. There is never a dull moment, our guests can walk the farm’s fields for hours on end, or on the towpath of the canal to visit nearby places, such as Wilmcote, Henley-in-Arden, Preston Bagot with its amazing pub The Crabmill, or they can simply enjoy the food at The View, which is on-site.

Obviously, they may prefer the excitement of cruising into Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon, to visit its many attractions, cafes and pubs. Part of the well-known Avon ring, there are fantastic opportunities for cruising on the canal in either direction, for short or longer round trips.

The Hill Farm Marina is nestled in a valley and sited on a working beef and sheep farm. It is a totally secure, quiet and relaxing place which will help anybody fully unwind.

If walking is desired, there are lots of opportunities, including access to private walks around the farm and links with the towpath and public footpaths. Some great walks include Austy Woods – well known for the Bluebells, the Edstone Aqueduct – at 475 feet, it is the longest cast iron aqueduct in England, or Monarchs Way – the escape route of King Charles II.

Onshore, our guests have access to a free, secure parking during their stay, access to the gated marina, access to boaters facilites – a new bath and shower room, access to the boaters lounge and to the outdoor barbecue.

For amazing coffees or dining outside the boat, The View, a licensed casual dining venue is on-site, part of the Hill Farm Marina. With an emphasis on high-quality locally sourced fresh ingredients, all cooked to order, The View is a place we definitely recommend.

The View opened in July 2019 and is a converted cattle and grain store. Offering the perfect place to eat, drink and enjoy the countryside, it is also as the name suggests, a great place to enjoy stunning views.

Whether you like boating, walking or cycling, here at Floating Cottages you can find them all!

Just WOW!

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend break on Breeze following her recent redesign and makeover.

This stunning boat has everything we needed for a fabulous break, the inside is a cool contemporary space with homely touches. There is a great shower, comfy bed, microwave, WiFi and plenty of seating inside and out – everything we needed for a very cosy relaxing stay.

After a warm welcome and informative handover from our hosts, we settled in and took a walk along the canal towpath to see the aqueduct before dinner. On Saturday our hosts kindly guided us out of the marina for a lovely cruise down the canal as far as the crab mill – on a wonderful sunny day, sat on the sun deck what more could you want.

Breeze is moored at Hill Farm Marina set in beautiful, very tranquil grounds we enjoyed walking the fields and of course, it is just a few steps away from The View, another favourite of ours where we enjoyed a fabulous dinner and breakfast.

Thank you Anca and Adrian for making our stay perfect, see you soon!

A sweet escape from London’s craziness and a well-spent staycation!

We spent a wonderful weekend on Breeze. We arrived on Friday evening, Anca and Adrian greeted us warmly. We were celebrating Tom’s birthday and to our surprise, Anca left a lovely bottle of bubbles for us to celebrate, once we got into the boat.

We had dinner on the boat and slept like babies. We woke up peacefully to the sound of the little ducks and lady swan outside the boat. ☺️

Saturday was full of adventures including a gorgeous walk by the canal, but not before we visited and fed the farm poneys. 🐴

We then embarked on a lovely sailing experience with Tom quickly learning and taking over the boat.

It was a sweet escape from London’s craziness and a well-spent staycation. We look forward to coming back soon! Thank you Anca & Adrian for this lovely romantic getaway!! xxx

The two-berth boat exceeded our expectations!

Our stay on Breeze a delightful two-berth canal boat exceeded our expectations, very tastefully fitted out by the owners, everything you need for relaxing nights away. Plenty of hot water for showers, cooking facilities are great, if you want to eat in.

Very cosy and warm with built-in heating for those chilly nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience on Breeze, all went very smoothly from arrival to departure.

Wonderful time on Breeze thanks to the lovely owners Anca and Adrian, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. 🙂

The Marina is a lovely setting, great walks along the canal and surrounding countryside ‘The view’ restaurant just 5 mins away ideal for snacks or a meal overlooking the countryside if you don’t feel like cooking ( a popular spot)!

A lovely cottage on the water!

Sitting on this little, lovely boat, listening to the rain and the ducks swimming around, I just thought I’d write this review…
Anca and Adrian have set up a lovely little cottage on the water – considering everything you might need for a breakaway – including the little extras you’d expect at any fancy hotel stay! The boat is so well equipped, cosy and warm, that we struggled to leave it!
The location is great, a 10-minutes drive from Stratford, or even less from Henley, but the on-site facilities are really handy! Also, we had the freedom to take the boat out on our own and we loved this!

The hosts were the perfect blend of being close by, friendly and helpful – without being intrusive – and that was perfect.

Both Anca and Adrian were lovely – and could not have done anymore to make our stay great – even providing Halloween decorations.

Thank you both.
