Andante, a lovely 70-foot traditional narrowboat home, is available to hire out from ‘Floating Cottages’ at Hill Farm Marina.
Recently redecorated throughout, Adante combines new with traditional features of narrowboats for a unique experience onboard. Andante is ideal for those experienced in handling large narrowboats, the perfect narrowboat holiday for families of 4, small groups of up to 6 people, or two couples that want a unique experience onboard.
As a self-sufficient boat, Andante has everything on board, all the things that you’d find in a regular home, just to make sure our guests have the perfect holiday.
In the kitchen, there is a full-size fridge freezer, a 2-burner hob, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, toaster, non-stick cookware with lids, kitchen utensils and crockery.
In the bathroom, our guests can enjoy a full-size shower, a washbasin and a cassette toilet.
Our guests will simply love the boat and the amazing views of the Hill Farm Marina where the boat is situated. There is never a dull moment, our guests can walk the farm’s fields for hours on end, or on the towpath of the canal to visit nearby places, such as Wilmcote, Henley-in-Arden, Preston Bagot with its amazing pub The Crabmill, or they can simply enjoy the food at The View, which is on-site.
Obviously, they may prefer the excitement of cruising into Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon, to visit its many attractions, cafes and pubs. Part of the well-known Avon ring, there are fantastic opportunities for cruising on the canal in either direction, for short or longer round trips.
The Hill Farm Marina is nestled in a valley and sited on a working beef and sheep farm. It is a totally secure, quiet and relaxing place which will help anybody fully unwind.
If walking is desired, there are lots of opportunities, including access to private walks around the farm and links with the towpath and public footpaths. Some great walks include Austy Woods – well known for the Bluebells, the Edstone Aqueduct – at 475 feet, it is the longest cast iron aqueduct in England, or Monarchs Way – the escape route of King Charles II.
Onshore, our guests have access to a free, secure parking during their stay, access to the gated marina, access to boaters facilites – a new bath and shower room, access to the boaters lounge and to the outdoor barbecue.
For amazing coffees or dining outside the boat, The View, a licensed casual dining venue is on-site, part of the Hill Farm Marina. With an emphasis on high-quality locally sourced fresh ingredients, all cooked to order, The View is a place we definitely recommend.
The View opened in July 2019 and is a converted cattle and grain store. Offering the perfect place to eat, drink and enjoy the countryside, it is also as the name suggests, a great place to enjoy stunning views.
Whether you like boating, walking or cycling, here at Floating Cottages you can find them all!
